Support Beyond Barriers
Support Beyond Barriers (SBB) is a free, appointment-only service designed to assist community members in navigating complex forms and applications. Our experienced social worker provides one-on-one support, working alongside you to complete the forms and gather the necessary documentation to strengthen your application. This service is here to help simplify the process and empower you in accessing essential resources.
Please note: SBB is not a case management service, and while we assist with application preparation, we cannot guarantee the success of any application.
One-on-one sessions with our social worker are available on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday by appointment only. For any questions, appointment changes, or cancellations, our team is available during the Centre’s office hours.

Why Volunteer?
Volunteering at the Varsity Lakes Community Resource Centre (VLCRC) is a wonderful way to give back to the community, while enriching your own life and well-being. Our Centre plays an essential role in fostering connection, providing affordable social activities, and supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged community members. Free Technology Support
Our Free Technology Support program offers a welcoming space to help you navigate the digital world! Whether you bring your own device—such as an iPad, tablet, smartphone, or laptop—or use one of ours onsite, we’re here to assist you. Our program includes help with using digital devices, completing online applications, and learning about online safety.
This program is proudly delivered in partnership with Be Connected, a Government initiative dedicated to improving digital literacy for all Australians.

English Class
Join our Free English Conversation Class for beginners! This welcoming class is designed to help you practice speaking and listening, expand your vocabulary, and gain confidence in everyday English.

Our Social Art program offers an inclusive space for anyone interested in exploring their creative side. Join us for watercolour painting and a variety of other crafts in a friendly, relaxed environment. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, express yourself artistically, and enjoy a welcoming atmosphere.

Free Play Monday
Enjoy Free Play Mondays every week from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm - completely free of charge! Let the kids have fun in a safe, gated area, where they can explore and play. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Nourishing Our Neighbourhood
Nourishing Our Neighbourhood is a partnership with Kings Community Care and Woolworths Robina, we are on a mission to distribute high-quality food that would otherwise go to waste, redirecting it to those in need. This initiative aims to reduce food waste while addressing food insecurity in our community.
Each week, we offer a variety of rescued food items, including fruits, vegetables, bread, and a selection of essential grocery products - what’s available changes based on the donations we receive. Our goal is to ensure that everyone has access to nutritious, delicious food, and we warmly invite you to benefit from this program. Whether you’re a neighbour, friend, or just passing by, our doors are open to you.

• Donate: If you have excess non-perishable food that is still in-date, consider donating it to support this program.
• Volunteer: We are always looking for passionate volunteers to help make this initiative a success. If you would like to contribute your time, we would love to have you join our team.

Stamping with friends
Join us for Stamping with Friends, a fun and creative way to make beautiful, handmade cards! Whether you're looking to try something new or enhance your crafting skills, this class offers a relaxed and enjoyable environment for creating personalised cards. Some experience with stamping is preferred, but everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

Playgroup
Our Playgroup is a fun and engaging space for children aged 0-5 years, held during school terms. We have a shaded and fenced outdoor area with plenty of play equipment for children to enjoy. Each session includes a craft activity, or singing songs, and plenty of opportunities to make new friends— all facilitated by our wonderful staff and volunteers.

Community Helping Community – Join our Sew Creative group, where we repurpose fabric into pram liners for organisations such as, “Baby Give Back” and other meaningful community projects.
